I blend storytelling, humor, cultural perspective, and audience participation to create performances that feel less like a presentation and more like a shared experience. My work often explores identity, belonging, language, and cultural roots, inviting audiences to recognize parts of themselves in the stories while becoming curious about the experiences of others.
 

2. What audiences are Carolina’s programs designed for?

I perform for a wide range of audiences, from middle and high school students to college students, adults, and older adults. 3. What’s the difference between a Stage Performance and an Interactive Performance?

In a Stage Performance, I weave stories, humor, and some audience interaction together, often followed by questions and conversation. In an Interactive Performance, audience members become part of the show, playing games, answering cultural trivia, stepping into characters, or using costumes, props, and puppets to help bring the stories to life.
 

4. What kinds of stories does Carolina perform?

My repertoire moves between personal stories and traditional stories. My personal work draws from experiences with immigration, language, identity, belonging, and navigating cultures, while her traditional repertoire brings myths, legends, folktales, and other stories from Latin America to contemporary audiences.

6. What size audiences can Carolina perform for?

I am equally comfortable with intimate groups and large audiences. I have performed for groups as small as 10 and for festival and event audiences of up to approximately 500 people, adapting my performance style and level of interaction to the setting.
 

7. Where does Carolina perform, and can she present more than one program during a visit?

I perform in libraries, museums, festivals, theaters, schools, universities, conferences, community spaces, and other venues, and can generally present up to two performances in one day. Outdoor performances can also work when the space is covered or tented and protected from competing activities and excessive noise.
 

8. Does Carolina offer seasonal, themed, or tailored storytelling programs?

Yes. Programs can be selected or tailored around themes such as Hispanic Heritage Month, Colombian Christmas and winter traditions, Latin American Indigenous traditions, identity and belonging, and spooky or supernatural storytelling, a particular favorite! Whenever possible, I work with presenters to shape a program around the interests, theme, or occasion of their event.
 

9. What sound equipment and technical setup does Carolina need?

For most storytelling performances, a good sound system and a stand microphone are preferred. For highly interactive performances, I may use her own earset microphone, but an additional microphone is needed for audience members participating onstage. Specific technical needs vary by show and venue.

10. Does Carolina offer virtual programs and storytelling workshops?

Yes. I offer virtual storytelling as well as workshops that can explore storytelling, humor, creativity, and the craft of shaping stories for an audience. Workshops can be adapted to the experience, interests, and goals of each group.

11. Does Carolina travel, and can organizations share travel expenses?

Yes! I travel for performances, festivals, conferences, residencies, and other engagements. When several organizations in the same area book programs around the same dates, travel expenses can often be shared, making a regional visit more affordable for everyone involved.
 

12. How far in advance should we book?

Booking 8–12 months in advance is recommended, particularly for festivals, conferences, seasonal programs, and dates requiring travel. However, I am happy to consider shorter-notice opportunities whenever her calendar allows.
 

13. Does Carolina offer keynote presentations and conference programs?

Yes. My presentations can explore identity, belonging, immigration, and cultural navigation, Latin American literature and storytelling, and life as a working artist, all through the lens of story and humor. Her work as creator and host of Tres Cuentos, a bilingual literary podcast exploring the diverse cultures and stories of Latin America, can also inform presentations centered on literature, folklore, podcasting, and cultural storytelling.
 

14. Can a performance be combined with a workshop or conversation?

Absolutely. A performance can be paired with a workshop, facilitated conversation, Q&A, or other complementary experience, making this a particularly good option for universities, conferences, libraries, festivals, and cultural organizations. The combination can be shaped around the goals and interests of the event.
 

15. Does Carolina perform in English, Spanish, or bilingually?

All three. Depending on the program and audience, I can perform entirely in English, entirely in Spanish, or bilingually, weaving both languages naturally into the storytelling experience.
