1. What types of stories does Carolina perform, and what makes her show unique?
I blend traditional narrative, humor, cultural perspective, and audience participation to create immersive bilingual storytelling performances. My repertoire moves between personal narrative exploring the immigrant experience and traditional Latin American folklore, myths, and legends. My formats range from standard stage performances with Q&A to highly interactive performances using games, cultural trivia, and props to bring stories to life.
2. What audiences are Carolina’s programs designed for?
My adult storytelling programs are designed for middle and high school students, college campuses, university events, libraries, and adult audiences. Looking for elementary or children’s programming? 3. Does Carolina offer keynotes, Hispanic Heritage Month programs, or seasonal shows?
Yes! Programs can be tailored around themes such as Hispanic Heritage Month, Day of the Dead (Día de los Muertos), Colombian Christmas traditions, Latin American Indigenous folklore, identity and belonging, and spooky supernatural storytelling. I also deliver university keynotes and conference presentations on immigration, Latin American literature, and podcasting, drawing from my work as host of Tres Cuentos Podcast.
4. Can performances be combined with workshops or virtual sessions?
Absolutely. A performance can be paired with a storytelling workshop, masterclass, facilitated conversation, or Q&A (a popular option for university residencies, libraries, festivals, and cultural organizations). I also offer virtual storytelling performances and workshops exploring creativity, humor, public speaking, and the craft of shaping stories for an audience.
5. Does Carolina perform in English, Spanish, or bilingually?
All three. Depending on the program and audience, I can perform entirely in English, entirely in Spanish, or bilingually, weaving both languages naturally into the storytelling experience.
6. Where does Carolina perform, and can she travel or present multiple shows?
I perform in libraries, museums, festivals, theaters, schools, universities, conferences, community spaces, and other venues nationwide and internationally. I can generally present up to two performances per day. When several organizations in the same area book programs around the same dates, they can share travel expenses to make visits more affordable. Outdoor performances can work when covered and protected from competing noise.
7. What audience sizes can Carolina accommodate, and can I watch a preview show?
I am equally comfortable with intimate groups of 10 and large festival or event audiences of up to 500 people. 8. What are the booking timeline and technical requirements?
Booking 8–12 months in advance is recommended, particularly for peak seasons like Hispanic Heritage Month, fall festivals, and dates requiring travel, though shorter-notice requests are considered when my calendar allows. For most shows, a quality sound system and a stand microphone are preferred; for highly interactive shows, I use an ear set microphone along with a secondary microphone for audience members participating onstage.
